Snowball fight or making snow families?
Definitely snow ball fight! Oh, the hours spent creating a snow fort and building up our arsenal…
Sleigh rides, sledding or skiing?
All three! It’s impossible to choose one over the other.
Favorite Holiday song?
I love The Pogues’ ‘Fairytale of New York’. It captures Christmas perfectly and you can’t help jigging along to it.
Favorite holiday movie?
Love Actually. I love Jamie, Colin Firth’s character. He gets kicked in the teeth when it comes to love, but he regroups on Christmas Eve and makes a spontaneous dash to propose to the real love of his life. I’m a giant sap, and that scene gets me in flood of tears every time.
Snow on holiday eve or just a chill in the air?
Snow snow SNOW! The more, the merrier.
Most memorable holiday memory?
One Christmas Eve, the snow started drifting down from the sky in those big, fat flakes that look like they’ve been sculpted. Soon, everything was covered in a white blanket. It was a wonderful prelude to Christmas.
Did you eat popcorn balls as a kid? If you did, do you still?
Er… popcorn balls? No. Thank God!
Real tree or artificial? Green or white?
Definitely a real tree! When I was young, my family used to trek out to the woods to cut one down. I can’t imagine Christmas without the smell of pine (and lots of needles to clean up afterwards!).
What are your holiday plans this year?
This year, for the first time in a while, I’m heading from my home in London to Canada, where I grew up. I can’t wait! Fingers crossed for a white Christmas.
What's the one holiday dish your family can't go without?
