It’s that time of year when the chill in the frosty air brings us indoors to hunker down with thick comforters and mugs of steaming hot chocolate overflowing with fluffy marshmallows. When holiday music and movies become the soundtrack to our everyday home lives. When we gather ‘round the fire for company, drink, food and love. When we are celebrating and remembering those we treasure and hold near and dear. When the real meaning of the season is family – by our DNA or by our heart. When we reflect and give thanks for all we have. In a nutshell, unconditional love.
I’d like to welcome Jessica Brody to share the beauty of the season with us.
Favorite Holiday tradition?
Eating! Wait, is that a tradition? Well, it is at my house!
Favorite childhood toy?
My easy bake oven. Although, I was (and still am) highly undomestic so most of the time, I would just make the batter (it was an add-water-and-stir kind of thing) and then eat it. Because cooking with a light bulb just takes too long. And why wait?
Favorite childhood game?
I was a HUGE board game fanatic when I was young. And still am, actually. The only difference is, as a kid, I had many more willing board game challengers. Now I practically have to bribe people in my family to play. But my favorite board game as a kid was Sorry! Probably because of its brilliant sarcasm. C’mon, are you really truly Sorry about knocking someone out of the game just as they’re about to win? Exactly.
Snow ball fight or making snow families?
Definitely snow families. I’ll choose that over getting smacked in the face by giant gobs of compacted ice any day!
Sleigh rides, sledding or skiing?
Sleigh rides! Although can you believe I’ve never been on one! I’m just assuming they’d be awesome given how many songs are written about them.
Favorite holiday song?
Adam Sandler’s Hanukkah song. Cracks me up every time!
Favorite holiday movie?
Love, Actually. My family and I watch it every year!
