Vampires and Corsets: An Interview with Colleen Gleason, Author of the Gardella Vampire Chronicles - Page 6

I’d like to have five books total about Victoria - that’s about how many I want to use to tell her story, and to show her growth. So I have two more to write, and then, yes, I’d like to move on to write about a different female Gardella Venator.

My plan is to move to a different time period - although which one has not yet been determined… however, if one takes a look at my website and goes to the Gardella Legacy page, there are a few hints there about where I might yet be headed. †

What inspires you to write everyday? Do you do it because you love the characters or are you so wrapped up in the story you just have to know what happens next?

Yes, yes, and yes… oh, and the fact that I have a contract and a deadline!

It’s the most wonderful thing in the world: to be able to sit down at the computer and spend time with people I’ve created in a world that I’m still exploring, and still have some control over… and to get paid doing it. I couldn’t ask for a better job. I couldn’t imagine one!†

What can we expect from Rises The Night?

Well, other than the hints I’ve dropped above, here are a few of the chapter headings from Rises. Maybe they’ll pique your interest:

“An Encounter With a Most Discreet Gentleman”

“In Which Lady Rockley Acquires an Acute Distaste for Lavender”

“In Which Our Heroine Annoys an Italian Countess”

“In Which Maximilian Considers Gardening”

“In Which Monsieur Vioget Makes an Unflattering Comparison to our Heroine”

I'm looking forward to your next book immensely and I'm sure it will be wonderful. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer questions!
