The Gathering Dark Published

I am pleased and proud to make this announcement:

PHD Press is proud to announce the release of our next book, The Gathering Dark, by Andrew Ian [Marty] Dodge, which went on sale Friday, Oct 1, 2004.

Andrew Ian Dodge writes in the Cthulhu mythos, and does so in a way that manages to please long time fans of Lovecraft while still engaging the modern reader. Andrew's works are often featured at Temple of Dagon, a site which works to keep fresh the worlds created by Lovecraft, and nurture those writers working there. Aleister, webmaster at Temple of Dagon, tells us that:

"Andrew Ian Dodge does what few modern authors can. He is able to write mythos tales which are not only appreciated by Lovecraft purists, but by fans of horror in general."

Which brings us to our new offering, The Gathering Dark. This collection of four tales follows the continuing adventures of The Sage of Wales, a modern day Merlin (although that description is not one he would favor), who battles those who would try to bring eternal darkness to all of humanity by resurrecting Cthulhu, the Great Old One, from his uneasy slumber. Dodge brings Lovecraftian horror into the modern age of the internet and videogames without losing the brooding dread that marks the best of Lovecraft’s works. Along the way, he explains just why it is that bureaucrats always seem to cause more problems than they correct.

The Gathering Dark is published in a trade paperback edition with a price of $12.95, and is available at www.phdpublishers.com, and coming soon to independent bookstores all across the Southeast.

PHD Press is a small press imprint of PHD Publishers LLC, specializing in short run publishing for genre authors. It is a family owned and operated business located in East Tennessee. For more information about this book, or PHD Press, feel free to visit our website.
