NEW ALEXANDRE DUMAS NOVEL

Author: NirajPublished: Mar 23, 2005 at 3:47 pm 10 comments

Interesting news on the literary front. It seems an unpublished novel by French author Alexandre Dumas was discovered in the French National Library.

Dumas is one of my favorite writers in classical literature; both his books, The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo, are not only literary masterpieces, but great beach reads.

I can't wait to get a hold of his latest work, titled The Knight of Sainte-Hermine, which will be published in July. Hopefully, an English translation is in the works.

Your html is messed up - You're missing a closing tag for your link.

Also, would appreciate more commentary on this interesting find.

Dumas is fabulous in the French

Interesting find, Niraj, and I agree that The Count of Monte Cristo is a great read (and one of the most enduring novels of all time, when it comes down to it). Haven't read it in the French though, Aaman!

Please provide an Amazon link with your posts. In this case, it's fine to use another work by Dumas.

It looks as if this is a novel by Dumas fils, not pere. Probably I should have given ASINs for The Three Musketeers (0140367470) and Camille (1588272435).

I did put the ASINs in the post. Don't know what went wrong? Will double-check.

    Niraj, interesting news

the problem was spaces and a line break after the final ASIN, the cursor should stop after the final digit of the final ASIN

I've been bitten by that same problem myself - it comes when you cut-and-paste (mostly) DVD ASINs from the Amazon site. For some reason, they have a space after the number that gets picked up if you just double-click on the ASIN.

That's why I'm so generous [grin] with free ASINs...
