Actually, I haven’t received a really bad review. There are a couple that found one or two things to pan a bit, but for the most part reviews have been positive. I even got a wonderful 5-star review from Harriet Klausner at Amazon for One Small Victory. When a reviewer does point out something as a negative, I try not to take it personally. I am a reviewer, so I know that often the review is subjective, even though we are supposed to be objective. There have been books that I gave a less than rave review for that received five-star reviews from others.
What’s next for you?
I’m working on book two of a series that I hope will be picked up by Five Star. It is a police procedural featuring two women homicide detectives in Dallas. One is white, the other African-American, and they are thrown together as unwilling partners during a time of racial tension in the city and the department. The first book, Open Season, is under consideration, and I will use “season” as a series identifier. The second book is Stalking Season, and I can’t wait to finish it.
Thank you for this interview, Maryann. Do you have any final words you’d like to share with my readers?
I just want to thank everyone who takes the time to read the interview. This virtual book tour has been a blast, and I have found some great blogs and some wonderful new cyber friends along the way.
If anyone feels compelled to purchase a copy of One Small Victory, I would be happy to send an autographed bookplate. Just send me an e-mail me at mcm0704@peoplescom.net with a street address. Also, the book is marketed heavily to libraries, so folks can request it at their local library. I would make the same offer for Play It Again, Sam, but I don’t know how one does a virtual bookplate. I’m sure there’s a clever programmer out there somewhere who will come up with a way to do that in the near future.

I really enjoyed reading this interview. Both books sound like wonderful reading. In reading the interview, Maryann's blog title, The Faces of Grief, caught my attention. I'm going to check that out as that is something I am very interested in. Thanks for hosting this great interview.
