Interview with K.R. Morrison, Author of Be Not Afraid - Page 2

Can you tell us about your challenges in getting your first book published (if any)?

Finances. Fortunately for me, I have wonderful in-laws who did not hesitate to forward me the money I needed to get the POD publisher I chose to get my book into print.

Have you written a book that you have not been able to get published? If so, can you share a little about it with us?

Not so far. But I will probably try to research a little more and see if I can get a publisher to pick up the next manuscript — so I don’t have to sink so much coinage into getting it to the general public.

How did you come up with the title?

It is the title of one of my favorite hymns, written by Robert J. Dufford, SJ. I especially refer to a verse in the book at the beginning: “If you stand before the power of Hell, and Death is at your side, know that I am with you through it all.” It is what came to me as I wrote the book.

Is there anything else you would like to share with us?

I am currently hip-deep into the sequel, Resurgence: The Rise of Judas, which I am writing for two reasons. One, the characters decided towards the end of Be Not Afraid that there would be a sequel (anyone who has ever written a book knows how it can take on a life of its own), and two, because people constantly ask me if there will be a second book.

And, from what I have just written in Resurgence, it looks like there will be a third book. I have no idea what it will be about, but I will be busy for a long time to come!
