Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
Beyond The Code of Conduct is the second book in our Sullivan Boys romantic suspense series. Secondary characters in Against Doctors Orders, Bobbie Leighton, now an FBI agent, and Joe Sullivan, still an inactive homicide detective after his injury apprehending The Henna Housewife Killer in Book 1, are forced to live under the same roof posing undercover as a married couple seeking to adopt a baby. Their target is a New York Attorney suspected of baby trafficking. We couldn’t wait to write Bobbie and Joe’s story. With his eye patch and resentment about losing his career while saving Bobbie’s life, Joe is a pirate who commandeers Bobbie’s ship when he forces his way into her case. Sweet memories of their past relationship collide with their married roles and the conflict smokes, builds and bursts into flames!
What was the inspiration behind your book? Why did you feel a need to write it?
We couldn’t bear to say good-bye to the Sullivan family! And, as so often happens, secondary characters think the story is about them anyway.
What message are you trying to convey with this book?
Love heals.
Why did you choose your particular genre?
What a great question! We think the genre chose us, since plotting a RS seems to follow how our collective mind works. And we do love reading romantic suspense.
How long did it take your book to be published from the time you submitted and was accepted to the time it was finally released?
The manuscript was accepted in August 2008, about 45 days from submission. Nine months from contract date, we have our newborn Beyond The Code of Conduct.
Can you tell us a little about the publisher who published your book? How have they been to work with?
