What is a typical writing day like for you?
Douglas and I work 6 hours a day, 6 days a week. Douglas might work early and I might work late, depending on our schedules.
What are some ways that you like to relax?
Elyse and I love the New York City parks: Riverside Park, Morningside Park and Central Park. We stroll, talk and bird watch. We also love hanging out in cafes. Elyse loves to travel, so whenever she can escape on a cruise or to a beach in Florida or Montauk, she goes and I tag along, laptop in hand.
What author/s do you think are overlooked in the writing/reading world today?
Steve Kluger, with his Last Days of Summer. Celine Keating, with her Layla, a beautiful novel that deserves a broad mainstream market.
What author would you most like to meet and why?
We would like to meet Jane Smiley. We loved her book, Private Life. We also enjoyed her biography of Charles Dickens. She explores themes that one could discuss for days. It would be fun to sit and talk about writing, characters and Charles Dickens.
Do you have any upcoming projects that you would like to share with readers?
We have two Christmas novels that will be coming out in the fall.
What is something about yourself that would come as a surprise to many people?
We believe in reincarnation and feel certain that we have been together for many lifetimes.
