It is often said that dogs are a man's best friend. With recent titles releasing such as Marley & Me by Josh Grogan, Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper, and Dewey by Vicki Myron, it is most apparent how much animals mean to people and just how close they come to one another. Another such story is A Man and His Maniac: The Bunkie Story by Charles Franklin Emery III. I had the honor to ask Mr. Emery III a few questions to get a bit more idea about the man and his beloved pet behind this wonderful sounding story! Please enjoy and be sure to check out the book when you get a chance! I know I will!
Tell us a bit about A Man and His Maniac: The Bunkie Story - Second Edition. What is the story about, who are the characters, etc
A Man and His Maniac: The Bunkie Story - Second Edition was written to commemorate the best canine friend I've ever had, Bunkie, a yellow Labrador Retriever. I had him for 14+ years and shared many a laugh and tear with Bunkie. The characters are Bunkie and I, with appearances from family, friends and enemies. The book is my way of sharing him with others and is a small tribute so that he will be around long after I'm gone. He got me through some tough times and I owed him this. I also did the same for my Dad in my book Dad, Dog & Fish.
What do you want readers to take away from reading A Man and His Maniac: The Bunkie Story - Second Edition?
I just want them to feel better after having read it. These are trying times and folks are really worried about a multitude of things. I want them to reset their minds to enable them to enjoy the simpler things in life, like the companionship of their pets and friends. In short, this little book offers them an escape to something as simple as a man and his dog and their adventures.
