Graphic Audio Review: The DemonWars Saga: The Demon Awakens – Part I By R.A. Salatore

Elbryan Wyndon and Jilseponie Ault are two young friends who are living a dream life of fun and exploration when their worlds are destroyed. Their village of Dundalis is destroyed by Goblins, who kill everyone, including the two friends' families. The two are separated during the battle, and it will be years before they will come together again.

Once again, I was treated to a Graphic Audio performance that really brings you into the story. The combination of sound effects and artistic vocal performances creates what Graphic Audio calls a “Movie in your Mind,†and that is truly what The DemonWars Saga: The Demon Awakens – Part I is.

A second storyline has Avelyn Desbris, a pious man who enters the monastery of St.-Mere-Abelle in order to study and to serve God. He begins learning the use of the powerful gemstone magic, but over time begins to question his faith as he comes to know more of the world and comes to terms with the all-too-human brothers of the Abellican Church and the myriad injustices they cause.

Elbryan finds himself in the company of elves who give him purpose to life and train him for something that is much greater than his own existence. Jilseponie, who suffers from memory loss due to the catastrophic events, makes her way to the city of Palmaris, where she is raised by the Chilichunks, a husband and wife who own a tavern in the city. For all three, there is something bigger.
