As the Flash, Wally West thinks he is the fastest man on earth, and this has allowed him to face every challenge thrown at him; at least until now. A scientist has created something that can move faster than Wally West and it is killing people in Wally's own Keystone City. Now he has to battle with an enemy that can stay one step ahead of the Flash, and the consequences soon will move beyond the city and threaten the future itself.
Once again I was treated to a Graphic Audio performance that really brings you into the story. The combination of sound effects and artistic vocal performances creates what Graphic Audio calls a “Movie in your Mind” and that is truly what Flash – Stop Motion is.
Wally West has never felt quite at home in the Justice League of America (JLA). Coming up through the ranks, he has felt that he has never really fit in. Although no one has ever treated him as such, he still feels like he is in the second string when it comes to power. What makes it harder is trying to live up to the likes of the legends Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.
It is found out that the people who are dying are ones who contain a recessive version of the same gene that give the super heroes their power, but in these cases they never manifested into special abilities. When Wally finds out that it is looking for his Aunt Iris, and that she has the gene, everything takes on a new meaning.
I really like this series of the JLA books. I like the fact that they take on some of the secondary characters of the Justice League, as well as how the author was able to take all of the physics and motion of the Flash's abilities, and explain it without getting technical and boring. There is also a good balance between focusing on The Flash, and still keeping the others of the JLA involved.
