Free Book Giveaway: The Host by Stephenie Meyer

The Hatchette Book Group publishers sent a shiny new hardcover edition of the The Host by Stephenie Meyer for a free giveaway. You may toss your name into the hat to enter this contest by filling out the entry form by Saturday, June 21, 2008. Please be sure to include your name and complete contact information for shipping purposes. In order to be eligible to win, you may enter the contest only once. I will announce the winner as a comment to this post the following week.

This is a beautiful book — my favorite of 2008 thus far, which is high praise coming from me because I receive review books in the mail every few days, and have had the pleasure of reading dozens of good books this year. Read a review of this enthralling story.

The Host is the new smash hit novel by Stephenie Meyer, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the young adult vampire series, the Twilight saga. As a stand-alone novel and the first Meyer book intended primarily for a mature adult audience, she refers to The Host as "science fiction for people who don't like science fiction."

A tale of body-snatchers who invade earth and become entangled in human civilization in ways no one could have predicted, this epic story is less about aliens and more about the heart of what makes us human. It will entice the reader to think and perhaps to dream about that key elements that make us who we are, that define us, and that cause us to connect with and love another person.

Stephenie Meyer's novels have been mainstays on the New York Times bestseller list. In addition to her books, there is also a movie currently in the works. Twilight, based on the first book in the Twilight vampire romance series, will open in theaters on December 12, 2008.

    Just a reminder...
You may enter the contest ONLY ONCE. To keep the playing field fair, I'll be cleaning up the duplicate entries, so typing in your information multiple times does not actually increase your chance of winning. (You know who you are.)

For those of you who asked -- Yes, I'm willing to ship outside of the U.S. if one of our international readers wins.

I'll post updates here if there's anything to add, so feel free to check back. Thanks for your participation!

I read just about anything that I can get my hands on. Of course if I can't get into it by the first couple of chapters then it ends up being given to someone else. From the preview I've read of this that doesn't seem to be the case.

The boook " The Host "is a good book. It has love triangle, betrayal and humanity. The author Meyer Stephenie has written a dazzling story of love and betrayal in a future with humanity at stake. The novel is unforgettable. I read the description of " The Host" on infibeam.com. They have summarised the book so well that i decided to buy it. Then i found that they are offering discount and free shipping. I got the book from there only. This is a really good book that will leave a long impression after reading it. Good story line handled beautifully in words. Great work by Meyer Stephenie.
