eBook Review: Ardeur by Danielle Gavan

Part of: Reviews in Brief

Ardeur is the story of Ardeur Lisle. She's never had a normal life. Ever since she was a small child, her parents knew there was something different about her, and shunned her. Then, years later she was sold to evil people who summoned a demon to inhabit her body and trained her to be a killer for hire. As a necromancer, Ardeur has powers of her own and plots to escape from her captors and rid herself of the evil demon inside her. After that, she plans to seek out the one person who ever showed her any kindness.

Brody Callaghan is that person, and it turns out he's never forgotten Ardeur, either. Brody hasn't exactly lived a normal life and always sensed Ardeur was different. But will the two manage to overcome their own obstacles in order to seek each other out? And what will happen if they do?

Overall, I thought Ardeur verges on being a great book. It's not perfect, but it is very good. The beginning took a little while to get going, in my opinion, but once I worked out where it was going, I was hooked. The few minor editing errors didn't mar my reading experience too much, because once I got into the storyline I couldn't stop turning pages to find out what happened next.

This is a compelling, exciting and in places a very sensual and sexy read. I'd definitely recommend it to paranormal romance fans, especially if you like a bit of sex thrown into your stories ;)
