What I'm thinking of is applying the lessons of Innovator's Solution to politics: Compete against non-consumption; disrupt at the low-end of the market; don't go up against the market leaders in a sustaining fight cause you'll lose; and, define the right value network where you can plug in your disruptive innovation. There's no reason this strategy couldn't work as well in politics as it does in business.
