Jesus may or may not have ever existed. I consider this an open question.
Jesus may or may not have ever existed. I consider this an open question. Obviously there's no reasonable basis for claiming that he was God. He may, however, have lived as a common itinerant preacher.…

Al, it comes as no surprise that you'd think of God as a libertarian. "Just create me and leave me the fuck alone. Don't ask for 'taxes' in the form of worship. Don't tell me what to do. Don't tread on me. Amen."

Yes. Man created God in his own image and all. Plus, it would be more consistent with the practical functioning of the planet She gave us.

Interesting. A bunch of godphobes huddling together to assure one another that there can't be a God because "he/she's never gone to coffee with me." Tautologies comfort me. God spoke to Moses because he was listening for God to speak to him. His heart was ready. Is your heart ready? No way!!! Your to busy waiting for leaves to turn into money as if God should come like a wishmaster to do your bidding. I bet everytime you read the Bible or other holy books your looking for doubt. You always find what your looking for. If the heart be dumb then God will surely be deaf.

In all seriousness, I have felt what to me is utterly undeniable contact from God, or something similarly numenous. While I am not particularly religious in my daily life - much to my personal shame and chagrin - I have never really had any doubt about His existence. There is simply no amount of logic that can explain away what I have felt.

"And if the world we have today represents God's perfect plan, then what the fuck would this place be like if he'd forgotten to write the outline?"
You're missing it.....it was his perfect outline before we messed it up with sin. Now we have to wait for the second coming of Christ to live in his perfect outline again. Let's hope we don't muck it up again...

Oh dear. Oh dearie me! This just reminds me of Adam and Eve eating the apple and then realising that they were naked. A fact unknown to them before. They lost the peaceful existense they had when ignorance was bliss. Same case scenario on todays earth. Too many people seeking ultimate knowledge. So much so that some people begin to question the very foundation of their coming to being or their existense. Some things to be understood, to be logical..to be dissected..etc..The Bible tells its story with the facts it can give. You either believe or you do not. I guess in this case, you do not:)
