Clinton's $ Memoirs $ Narcissistic Self-Indulgence

Clinton's Book 'My Life'

Everything you could ever want in a best seller. Sex, conflict, intrigue... but most of all, a bad case of narcissistic self-indulgence and exploitation of his public (dis)service.

In a sprawling 957-page autobiography, former President Bill Clinton's book "My Life" is a painfully sordid affair (pun intended) about his personal flaws, while exhorting gleeful vindictiveness about what he calls the hypocrisy of his enemies, and blaming his trist with Monica Lewinsky on "old demons" that have haunted him all his life... New York Times.

Am I the only one bugged by all this? Doesn't this only confirm the public's belief that politicians are just a bunch of self-serving egoists? Talk about turning your pain into gain $$$. Only in America you say. Sorry Bill, but you're not getting any of my hard-earned dollars.

Then again, maybe I'm not the only one who is fed up with Bubba's fascination with himself. Perhaps MICHIKO KAKUTANI said it best... "Sloppy, self-indulgent and often eye-crossingly dull... the sound of one man prattling away, not for the reader, but for himself and some distant recording angel of history".

Frankly, I don't know where the man finds his gall... Blog Bloke.

I haven't read the book, so I can't comment on the quality of the writing, but for god's sake, US presidents write their memoirs after leaving office and --yes, it's shocking, I know -- they get paid handsomly to do it.

They also get paid to give speeches and do a lot of other things.

How does this make Clinton any more of a navel gazer and money grubber than any other former US presidents?

And if you didn't expect him to discuss l'affaire Lewinsky, then you had your head in the sand. He was IMPEACHED for it, so it's perfectly and historically relevant and belongs in the memoirs.

    Where's the substance?

Not to mention the bias. Dick Cheney reportedly spends more than 70 percent of his time fundraising while in office. That is much more troubling than a former pol scoring big bucks after leaving.

"Narcissistic Self-Indulgence" yeah, kinda like Blogging? Oh no! Blogging is different, you don't get millions for that.

You didn't seriously think that Hillary would be the ONLY Clinton to write a large, boring tomb of a book, now did you? Bubba's book was a fait accompli from the moment he was first elected in '92.
