Book Review: Zero Debt: The Ultimate Guide to Financial Freedom by Lynette Khalfani

Lynette “The Money Coach” Khalfani’s Zero Debt – Ultimate Guide to Financial Freedom represents a honest, realistic and in your face approach to managing and eliminating debt by outlining a 30-day step-by-step process in becoming financially fit.  In it, Khalfani recounts her own struggle at one time with $100,000 in credit card debt, and how she was able to overcome debt that was crippling her financial destiny.

I found that the 30-day step-by-step process was enlightened and lesson-filled. The greatest realization for me was coming to terms with budgeting and lifestyle change when it comes to debt elimination Khalfani really laid it on the line about facing my own personal financial endeavors by providing me information on setting up a realistic budget plan and not being afraid to put my debt in writing.

She was able to mix general knowledge with solid financial education so that I was able to understand and implement financial change from day one. “Day 12 – Set up a good filing system” was one of the chapters that brought a different but simple lesson that made me feel like I was more in control of my own wealth.

Khalfani, who is also the author of Investing Success, says,

Zero debt won’t give you one simple magic formula to make your debt completely disappear in a months time. Nor will it teach you how to make a huge fortune in a few weeks, but it will reveal little known secrets about what it takes to get long-lasting control of your finances and manage your credit properly once and for all.

The philosophy of "Zero Debt" definitely delivers the secrets to debt elimination and financial freedom. Khalfani also reveals little-known facts about negotiating with credit card companies, refinancing your auto loan, and how to look like a million bucks without spending a fortune. Each chapter consists of weekly financial accomplishments and tasks in order to inch you closer to your financial goal.
