If I were to tell you about my last photo safari in East Africa’s Serengeti National Park, it would be entirely fictitious! You won’t have to take out a second mortgage for a trip to another continent and you won’t have to lie about it. You can, by reading and applying his suggestions, become a better photographer. Whether the wildlife you’re shooting is a robin on your lawn, the neighbor’s cow, or a white tale deer out there in the pasture, Skrzypczak has some ideas for you.
Ever heard the old adage that “If you attend this seminar and get just one good idea, you’ve gotten your money’s worth”? Well, I’ve always felt that if you pay to attend a seminar (or in this case purchase a book) and only get one usable idea, then you got gypped! Skrzypczak’s broad knowledge base and smoothly flowing prose offer value on every page from chapter one on equipment (he likes Nikon and Canon), continuing through succeeding chapters on shooting technique, image composition, trip planning, and the light in East Africa.
The concluding three chapters guide and educate readers on three of the author’s favorite shooting locations: Ngorongoro Crater and Conservation Area, the Serengeti National Park, and the Masai Mara. Wildlife Photography is filled with stunning photographs that show us Skrzypczak’s skills. As we read about the animals and geography we can sense the concern he has for the area and hope that we may also be able to visit.
