In Who Stole My Joy?, Sandra Steen uses a unique approach to teach others how to capture joy in their lives. Steen personifies “Joy” and follows his journey as he meets either friend or enemy in each chapter. Each quality is also personified as well as Steen shows its effect on “Joy.” There are over 40 characteristics covered throughout the book including selfishness, insecurity, positive attitude, and hope.
Steen closes by helping the reader to identify “who” stole their joy. She then gives steps to help them regain what has been lost. She explains “joy protectors” and encourages readers with daily affirmations that they can use to start themselves on the path back to a joy-filled life.
