The Wishing Well is a spell-binding fantasy adventure for kids. It is the second book in the Weaver series for kids. It is story that will keep kids reading and wishing that all goes well for Molly.
Initially, I thought this story was very much like a Cinderella story. But as I read on, I changed my mind. This story is one that kids will be able to relate to. It is a book about how hard it is to be a victim in the family. Molly’s family demands that she do all the house chores and they never seem to be completely happy with her efforts. They are always complaining and ensuring that she feels as if she’s not good enough. Molly seems to be persevering and courageous in the face of all of these difficulties and trials. I love how Molly copes with her predicament with poise and steadfastness. This will teach the reader many important lessons in how to deal with and move past sibling rivalry.
The fantastical elements of The Wishing Well makes the situation hopeful for Molly. She meets a magical creature, the Unwanted, who is able to help her overcome all of her difficulties. But can Molly’s wishes be granted by the magical creature? Are Molly’s circumstances special enough to get the magical creatures attention?
The Wishing Well will fascinate and captivate most young readers. It is story about sibling rivalry, and the difficulties of living in a family where you are expected to do so much. It is book that young readers won’t be able to put down until they have completed reading it. Everyone will want to know what happens to Molly in the end. I know my niece did. She almost missed her dinner because she was so enthralled by the book. Thank you Kai Strand for such a GREAT kid’s book!
