She provides lots of examples of sexual behavior from the animal kingdom. There are a number of animals herein I'd never heard of, so it was definitely a learning experience for me. And, truly, learning the mating habits of wild monkeys and fish and ducks had never really interested me that much - I'm not, you know, an animal voyeur or anything.
I liked Flam's writing style, even if I don't agree with the conclusions she reaches in her book. I did somewhat enjoy the dissection of the idiots in the pick-up artist classes and the story of the acrobats who agreed to "do it" and having an MRI done of "it." Oh, and let's not forget the penis museum - talk about a conversation starter (note: if you're a man, do not read that chapter while eating lunch).
Anyway, many times the chapters end with "we may be evolving that way." And maybe we aren't. Sex isn't all there is to life, after all. Well ... okay, no, it isn't.
