He lives in a perfect town, with perfect people. He, himself, is a great example of humankind – he goes to church each week, he does and says the right things. What he discovers about his utopian existence will forever change the way he views the world.
He begins to lose his mind – or at least that’s what he thinks is happening. It begins with skipping church, which is something he would have never imagined he’d do. From there it grows into a fight for his sanity.
Then, they come for him. His world is torn apart and he must search for the truth. Will he be able to recognize the lies or will he be caught and transformed back into a mind-numb edslave?
The Perception Experiment by Jason Glover is a provocative book that attempts to give a glimpse into a life somewhat like the matrix. The man, who is never named, awakens to the lies he’s been fed and searches for truth. Unfortunately, instead of a coming-of-age story, the book turns into a dark tale filled with cursing and sensual images.
Don’t look for a happy ending in this tale, it’s not in the cards. However, if you’re looking for a book that will make you think, make you question your beliefs and why you hold them, this is a novel that will challenge all that you hold dear.
