But more than that, The Kids of Dandelion Township has a lot of important lessons in it. All the kids strive to get good grades, they’re always happy and they get along with others, and there is no anger between them.
Further, everyone is treated equally, despite the fact that the kids are from many diverse backgrounds. The reader can’t help but become aware how much buoyant joy and energy the kids have. What a great message for kids.
This is a children’s book like no other. Many kids have such a difficult time to cope with life from such an early age. Kids today come from separated and divorced families, and they are angry.
They seem to have lost the peace and happiness that was once so inherent of youth.

I loved Borgenicht’s book from beginning to end.
The illustrations are also wonderful in that they transport the reader to a peaceful and fun place. I will be reading this book to my nieces and nephews and at the public library where I volunteer as a camp reader.
