Book Review: Ten Beach Road by Wendy Wax

Ten Beach Road takes readers on a journey through the lives of three brilliantly different women: Madeline Singer, Avery Lawford, and Nicole Grant. The one thing they have in common? The fact that their life savings had been depleted in a ponzi scheme that left them each a co-owner of a gorgeous mansion named Bella Flora.

For me, the book was featured a slow building plot that explored the lives of our three protagonists. This in-depth discover of our leading ladies was completely necessary in understanding the nuances of their characters later on in the story. I learned quickly that Avery is an accomplished architect turned HGTV personality with a marriage and a career that left much to be desired. Madeline is a loving mother and wife, with a husband leading a second life. And Nicole, my favorite, is a professional matchmaker with a past that catches up to her with the loss of her money.

Each woman arrived at Ten Beach Road in search of something to make them whole. As they move through each day, discovering Bella Flora, and working with their bare hands to restore the home to the gorgeous piece of real estate it once was, it becomes clear that they needed each other in order to heal. Alongside each woman’s journey I found myself reeling, laughing, crying, and healing right along with her. I personally believe this is the mark of a great book.

A perfect beach read, I highly recommend you pick up a copy of Wendy Wax’s Ten Beach Road for a very enjoyable read.
