Book Review: Past Tense: 365 Daily Tools for Putting Stress Behind You—for Good! by Shawn Kilgarlin and Ron Kilgarlin

Part of: Reviews in Brief

Are you ravaged by stress? Would you like to be freed from stress? If you answered ant of the above questions in the affirmative, this book is for you.

According to Shawn and Ron Kilgarlin, most of our stresses are caused by negative habits and mind sets. If we change our habits, we will change our negative mind sets, thus making it possible to live a relatively less stressed life. And we have many reasons to be stressed out nowadays. Our finances may be out of control; we could have lost our job; or we may be going through life changes. The authors help the reader come to terms with all of these stresses and show how we can deal with them most effectively.

This book consists of 365 positive, fun and informative stories on how to deal with our stressors. The authors deal with all kinds of stress such as: family stress, health stress, love stress, holiday stress and peer pressure, just to name a few. Shawn and Ron also offer solutions to stress such as how to have better health, handle stress, avoid addiction, deal with holiday stress, time management, and how to stop fretting about everything. Ideally, the book should be read slowly, one page a day so that the reader can meditate on the wisdom of each passage.

I loved the book from beginning to end. I recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with stress and hardship in their lives. It’s a book that should be kept on our nightstands and read every day. Thank you, Shawn and Ron, for a wonderfully informative and inspirational book!
