Night Buddies, Impostors, and One Far-Out Flying Machine, the second book in the Night Buddies series, has a ton of mischief going on all over the Borough, done by a red crocodile or is it a gang of impostors? That is what John, the young boy who is unable to sleep, and Crosley need to find out and it's driving Crosley nuts! He's innocent, but since he's the only red crocodile in the world, everybody thinks it's him. They'll try anything to put a stop to all the evildoing and restore Crosley's good name. But it won't be easy!
Can the Night Buddies put a stop to this red crocodile impostor or gang? Maybe with the help from an variety of folks such as Officer Finnegan and his horse Elmer; Fast Fanny the proprietor of The All Night Racing Blimp Emporium; Cros’s brother Crenwinkle; Rodney Oglesby owner of the sauerkraut and jellybean hot dog cart; big huge Lonnie who supplies the pineapple cheesecakes, and more night people.
The imposters must be stopped and Night Buddies John and Crosley are just the ones to stop them with stakeouts, wild chases in a fantastic flying machine and far-out schemes to snare the imposters. With the help of old friends and new ones, the addition of a never-ending supply of Crusted Crème Fro-Madge frozen yogurt make for one totally super night.
Sands Heatherington's use of character voices only adds to his crazy after-lights out adventure, especially his lead character Crosley, the world's only red crocodile. Crosley not only has a distinct appearance but an unusual dialect too. Secondary characters are equally as interesting, unique, and humorous throughout the story. Their wild ride through the nightlife of New York City, tracking down the imposters who are giving our hero a bad name, makes for a fun-filled adventure with laughs all along the way.
Note: Kids will need to look at the glossary at the beginning for the translations of words being used throughout the story.
