In photography, a panorama is generally considered to be an image that shows a field of view that is greater than that of the human eye. Many times this means that there is an aspect ratio of 2:1 or greater; the width of the image being two times the height. Its goal is to systematically take you through the basics and open up the possibilities that are available from modern digital panoramic techniques. The book is 160 pages in length and is divided into 5 chapters and 4 projects.
Chapter 1, "Basics," begin with looking at the first panoramas and at the history of their development. Then you take a look at how panoramas have been used in contemporary art, the choices that you have when shooting, what a panoramic camera has been in the past, what it is today, as well as what the challenges are when taking a panoramic shot.
Chapter 2, "Shooting," examines the equipment that you will want to have when taking the images for you panorama.
