Book review: Lords of Chaos

Lords of Chaos
Michael Moynihan & Didrik Soderlind
(Feral House)

This book, now in a new edition, details the rise & fall of the Norwegian black metal scene. All its murder, arson, blasphemy and dark music is examined in detail with interviews with some of the major players as well as journos, sociologists and fellow travellers in the Satanic realm. It authors have managed to make it read well despite the copious amount of details that lie there-in. Sometimes rare for a book about music, this book is very well written. If you have any interest in the darker edges of rock music or even of humanity. The fact you get a taste of the Northern European nationalist/extreme politics. What makes it more interesting for me is the fact that some of the saner people mentioned in this book (well and the ones not in prison or dead) I have met at events like the Inferno Festival and other extreme metal stalwarts like the guys from Enslaved. Highly recomended.
