I have known Stephanie Chandler for several years. We met when she contacted me via email and asked if she could feature my business start up story in her well received 2005 book, The Business Startup Checklist and Planning Guide: Seize Your Entrepreneurial Dreams! Chandler herself has an interesting business story.
She spent her early career in Silicon Valley, working in a variety of roles including software sales, technical training, and technical support until she developed an ulcer before her 30th birthday. Knowing it was time for a complete lifestyle change, Chandler fled corporate America in 2003 and opened Book Lovers Bookstore in Sacramento, California (she later sold the store in 2007 to focus on writing, publishing, and her growing internet small business marketing niche).
Of course, owning the bookstore gave her a hands-on education in the realities of small business marketing, and Chandler began studying internet marketing strategies, leading her to launch BusinessInfoGuide.com, a directory of resources for entrepreneurs in 2004. She most recently founded her own publishing company, Authority Publishing, a custom publishing and marketing company. And her ulcer is just fine!
Along the way Stephanie Chandler wrote books to help other small business owners develop themselves, their platforms, their brands, and their businesses. She is known for her real life nuts and bolts approach to business and marketing, presenting things so clearly that anybody can follow. Chandler "loves what she gets to do every day and finds great joy in learning and teaching about her favorite topics: internet marketing, social media and publishing."
As in her earlier books Chandler uses the true stories of many entrepreneurs in Leap! 101 Ways to Grow Your Business, including Nicole DeBoom of SkirtSports and Michael Ortner of Capterra. She answers basic questions about cash flow and audits, the importance of infrastructure to your future ability to sell your business, how to turn your marketing campaigns viral, and which media opportunities to be on the lookout for.
