"Never go shopping for kiwis in a shoe store. Some people just don't have what you need. So why waste time banging on their doors, ringing their bells, demanding service?"

I read this a short while back and am about to read it again, Karen Salmansohn's How To Be Happy Dammit!

Karen Salmansohn has written many positive thinking and self help books. Her writing is funny, but always laced with a message or a lesson. Her goal is to "stir things up... wake up sleepy minds, hearts and spirits... spread positive propaganda throughout the land!"

The book is (as subtitled), "A cynic's guide to spiritual happiness." The reading is quick and fun. It's full of anecdotes and stories that make you go 'hmmm'. The author describes the book as "... the first and only self-help book that merges psychology, biology, eastern and western philosophies, quantum physics, and the Zen of Bazooka Joe" and "It may not change your life (unless you let it), but it will certainly brighten your day, even if you are a die-hard cynic."

I agree

This book is really striking! It struck a smile on my face by the fifth page, It also struck my latent teenaged depression down in a crushing blow and picked my spirit back up off the floor. I already have lent it (the book) to ten of my most down and out friends and only recieved smiles in return. A fast read, I highly suggest checking this out the artistic value alone is worth the money.
