Having started to read HBP with the highest of expectations and with enormous eagerness to find out in which unexpected direction the saga would turn this time i must say that i am very very dissapointed. Now i will not just leave it at that but actually explain why this book will certainly dissapoint just about every HP enthusiast: It is simply lacking those aspects that made 1-4 great and 5 at least kind of good. Now i had actually thought number 5 to be the one book in the series that would later somewhat be remembered as a filler of some sort but the HBP proved to be far worse. Harry Potter has become such a successfull series due to Rowling's exceptional way of placing the reader in a whole new world entirely, providing great suspense and tons exicting twists and turns of different plots. Now what I am asking myself is where there were any twists and turns in the HBP ? Everything seemed so forced and at no point of the book the reader gets the "Oh! I see"-sensation which the other HP books are famous for. Besides that the whole storyline has become rather cheesy. Harry feeling sorry for Malfoy at some point? Malfoy's a dickhead and after all he's done there would have been no need for Harry or Dumbledore to let him live on. The thing that pissed me off the most is that it is never sufficiantly explained why Dumbledore trusted Snape so much. Apparently he WAS quite senile. Snape felt remorse for what he had done and this made hin so trustworthy, COME ON!!! I would have never expected Rowling to write down sonething that stupid. Especially for Dumbledore having always been the one who could smell what was cooking no matter what the circumstances were. The entire storyline is just trying to set everything right for the showdown in my opinion. I will read book 7 as soon as it comes out and i will read it without setting the book aside for more that 5 minutes at a time but when i look at Rowling's and the whole series' developement, my expectations this time are low. Harry Potter fans will have to be prepared for the seventh book to destroy the entire myth by continueing where 5 and 6 pointed the way

I was so disappointed with the last book I could cry. AD's death wasn't a complete surpries- we all knew Harry had to do this alone and he couldn't do that with a semi-omniscient head teacher. The whole thin seemed incredibly rushed and all of the characters, not just Hermione, seem to have fallen through. I've read better fan fiction. However, I must admit that I will be reading the 7th one when it arrives, in the hopes of reaffirming my now dwindling faith in JK Rowling

You know what astonished me, the strength of Severus. He was one of the best wizard in his teaching period.

I think that the sixth book and the fourth book are both the best books yet. i think that some people just dont have imagination and comprehension to understand the HP books. I myself am an owner of all of them and i absolutely love them. i think that the first book wasn't as good as all of the other ones just because it takes time, but they get better as they go. It's a shame that the series is almost over...
i enjoyed a lot reading the 6th part of this gorgeus story named harry potter...but the end surprised me enourmous...dumbledore dead!!!i just finished to read and i still can't believe...why?
it was so great...so beautiful...so sad...i was crying while i was reading the 2 last chapters...i mean it...i just coudn't stop my tears...i was like i had read in the newspaper that someone closed to me died...it was depressing...the most sad book i've ever read...but in the same time the most beautiful ever

Dont worry people DUMBLEDORE ISNT DEAD there are lots of clues to suggest this if you read the book carefully.
Hrm lets see I have published 3 books and written 3 full length novels. Try harder next time dear and try not to launch personal attacks when you disagree with a review. It is so childish.

The truth is that HBP is like a back story, a preamble to the final volume. Harry, Dumbledore and the Pensieve take more importance than the other subplots like Draco's plotting or finding out who the HBP is.
On the romance part, one finds it hard to believe that Ron and Hermione will end up together (with all the nasty fights they've had and all the using-someone-else-to-make-him/her-jelaous schemes).
I think the Ginny-Harry thing could've been written differently; I'm not saying better, but differently.
