Funding Evil (How Terrorism is financed and how to stop it...)
Ratchel Enrenfeld
I can quite understand the claim on the front of this book that this is The Book the Saudis don't want you to read.
It's pretty explosive stuff detailing how terrorists get their money to carry out attacks. Needless to say the Saudis do not come off too well, as they are a great source of funds for Islamic terrorists world-wide.
The book also demonstrates that goverments world-wide have been slow to deal with the problem of terrorist financing, whether it be through drug & arms smuggling or misdirection of funds through curruption and fake charities. Not one country on earth is immune to criticism on this matter. It makes for a pretty sorry tale.
What makes this even more poignant is the fact I started the book a little over 24 hours before the London bombings last week. This book does not make for very pleasant reading, and shows just what a task it is going to be to stop terrorists getting their hands on the funds needed to perpetuate their evil. Well-written with excellent notes and appendices.

It's actually pretty easy to see why Ehrenfeld feels the Saudis "don't want you to read Funding Evil." As I noted in my review of the book, Ehrenfeld was sued by a Saudi kingpin (named) who used a technique called "forum shopping" to find the most advantageous venue for his lawsuit.
He sued her in Britain - ironic, isn't it?
