Book Review: Eighty Days Amber by Vina Jackson

Part of: Reviews in Brief

Eighty Days Amber is the fourth book in the Eighty Days series. Readers of the previous books will already be acquainted with the main character of this one--Russian dancer Luba. This is her story, from how she ended up leaving Russia and moving to America, what events conspired to put her in a New Orleans club when Dominik and Summer were there, and how, finally, she came to bump into Summer again. It's a life story, really, but a much more interesting one than most.

Eighty Days Amber is not my favourite of this series, but I can't quite put my finger on why. There is certainly plenty of action, both of the sexual and cleaner kinds, and even the occasional bout of humour. Perhaps I just didn't engage with Luba as a character, I don't know. But regardless of this, I would still say give this book a read, especially if you've read and enjoyed the others, as it's a great insight into the world the characters inhabit, and ties up some of the loose ends that were no doubt deliberately left trailing in the previous novels.

Sexy, exciting, and interesting, Eighty Days Amber is another great addition to the series, giving us more information on the characters we've been introduced to so far, as well as a comprehensive backstory on Luba. Now onto Eighty Days White.
