It tells nine stories (including two about Dewey) about cats and the people who loved them — the people who rescued them, and those whom they rescued.
Some of the stories are funny, some are sad, but they are all signature Dewey stories — heartwarming and inspiring. Author Vicki Myron interviewed numerous feline aficionados who shared tales of the cats in their lives, what made them special, and why they deserve to be raised to Dewey status— prerequisites being perseverance and love.
Having a cat for company can lower blood pressure and soothe the savage breast. A cat’s calming influence can drain tension and make stress less…well, stressful. Those who love cats know the comfort a purring ball of fur curled up in the lap can give. Playing with a kitten is a great cure for the blues, and talking to an adored and adoring cat is better treatment for emotional woes than some therapies. The stories in Dewey’s Nine Lives bear this out.
