I’ve been looking for some good romantic suspense lately. Halloween has come and gone, the weather is getting colder and it’s the time of year to sit snuggled in a blanket with a cup of tea. Romantic suspense is perfect for this kind of weather. But everywhere I’ve looked lately it just seems like the same old thing; tepid and unoriginal tales lining the shelves of my favorite bookstores. You would think that it would be easier to find a good suspense story with a little romance thrown in for good measure.
Lucky for me that I’ve just discovered Heather Graham. While her books might not be the answer to all my prayers they are sure to keep me entertained while I continue my search.
Deadly Harvest is the second book in The Flynn Brothers Trilogy. The first, Deadly Night, was released in October and the third, Deadly Gift, is due out in December. I picked up Deadly Harvest on a whim but after finishing it I’m sure to pick up the other two.
Rowenna Cavanaugh is an occult expert from Salem Massachusetts. She’s your typical female lead; beautiful, bright, and more than a little feisty. She’s in New Orleans promoting a new book when she starts having nightmares about the cornfields and the scarecrows from her home town. In the nightmares she can feel the presence of something evil and she knows that when she returns home things are going to be far from all right.
Jeremy Flynn is a retired police diver and is now working as a private investigator with his other two brothers. He’s opened a charity for children in New Orleans. Jeremy has been doing radio talks with Rowenna about the supernatural to bring attention to his charity. He’s managed to keep his distance from her so far but he knows that it’s only a matter of time before he gives into temptation.
