Corporate Recruiter Tells All: Tips, Secrets, and Strategies to Landing Your Dream Job! by Ryan Fisher is a no-nonsense book about how to find a job, particularly when a recruiter is involved. I found myself in the job searching world recently, and bought several books on how to write a resume, find jobs, interview, and negotiate. 
I spent quite a bit of money on books that weren’t that useful. I found all I needed in this helpful and compact book.
Mr. Fisher does a great job of “telling it like it is” without sugarcoating anything and also not being offensive. I liked many things about this book. I learned some practical tips and ideas for finding a good job that I would actually put into practice. While he does suggest being proactive and creative, he doesn’t suggest stalking employers and recruiters, nor does he encourage becoming a nuisance like others have suggested in other books I have read. He actually discourages that, and instead, promotes being clever and creative while trying to get noticed. He says that building relationships of respect shows professionalism and will help more in the long run. I particularly like his idea of contacting hiring managers or executives, asking for advice rather than a job because most people are flattered and eager to give advice.
In his book, Fisher gives many ideas of how not to get overlooked and passed over by a recruiter. I also appreciate that Mr. Fisher didn’t have a hundred pages of sample resumes for me to skip over, but put in sample snapshots of parts of resumes that pack a punch. This gave me ideas of how to improve my own resume without having to go through many resumes that did not relate to my own experience.
I highly recommend Corporate Recruiter Tells All to anyone in the market for a new job. It provided me with a lot of good reminders of how to be professional and showcase my talents, skills and experience without turning off hiring managers and recruiters. I will definitely be keeping this book handy for the next time I’m in the market for a new job.
