A test on language Insight: A completed Virual Mime

This text dates originally from the 24th of october 2004 and as you will read, I had some troubles with pain at the time, as a consequence of having ibc. Thats dimished now, the pain is gone, but other things aren't. Thats life, you learn to live with it.

This is a test on language insight. You will not be judged on skincolor, proffesion, or religion. Except if your religion would be to kill everybody on this planet. I will answer no questions about what certains words mean, or about the text itself.

Subisidies equals governement aid [money]

The test is very simple:

What is the idea described here ?
And what has the rest of the text to do with it ?

Both questions should be answered correctly to qualify. The test will be closed in one month.

Although I might make a fool of myself, doing this, I need to know how good this text is, so that I can use some of the basics used in here to write a more complex form. If possible 25 to a 100 times as complex. If one doesn't risk anything, one will never know.

English/engelse Version/versie

Virulent mime completed.

I would say that one of my ideas, is a very powerful mime, not thought about for the first time, nor do I think it would be appropriate to say it would be originally mine. As certain text well over a century old, and from more know persons like e.g. Thomas Jefferson point partly in the same direction. I agree with him, but not completely.

I see no reason to cancel or stop using the patent system. That would bring utter chaos, and disruption, and would only do harm. It might damage society in such a way, that the harm done, cannot be undone. As read regarding a complex system, the first and most important rule should be: " Do No Harm. "

Rather I would say that the patent system is useful and should stay, but that an additional system should be put in place as not to stop or stiffen invention, and the likely hood of new ideas being pronounced, as we currently seem to be doing.

The new system should be for unlikely applications like traditional building styles, and life necessary applications like e.g. devices to catch rainwater.

People are afraid of change, but change is necessary, otherwise, our culture will come to a stand still and will go in decline. That would be a very bad outlook socially as well as economically. One to be avoided.

After a night's sleep, several cups of coffee, and another reading, I am still unsure of what this guy is trying to say. There are times when numbered paragraphs and structure would really help gets one's point across, this is one of those times.

Strucutre would get the point across, true, but this is a test. If i put structure and numbered parapgraphs in it, than i can as well answer the the question myself. Wouldn't be much of a test.

But of course if you want to do that with the text, to find the answer, then nobody's holding you back. You don't have to ask permission for that you now. Just go ahead. And don't loose sleep over it.

It reads like the pseudo-chat generated by hackers to approximate human speech. Maybe a hacker is channeling Noam Chomsky here.

    Or Nim Chimpsky...

So far I've only read about perhaps as mucha s one page about Noam Chomsky's language philosophy. Just enough to understand wath he, means with surface- and dept structures in langauge. I haven't read any of his other work, old as well as new, but ia m mostly intrested in his language philosphy. I don't quite agree with several of his political viewpoints, from what I've read of them sofar.

As for pseudo chat, the text is about a idea, but was written in this way to secure the idea, from preying eyes. Thats all i will say about it, and is perhaps already to much.

Use wathever technique you want to use, with friends, colleagues,.. you're absolutley free in that.

There are almost no rules. The rules are very simple. No more questions about the text. Except the one I answered so far, that the way it was written is to secure the idea.

You can use wathever book you want, wathever advice from whom you want.

The only limitation is that you cannot use computers especially not supercomputers to do analizing, to run algorithms on the text. This text was written without using any of those, just insight in langauge, and if the test wants to be equal for everyone, than everyone is only allowed to use there mind(=brains), any resource, books, articles, emails, internet pages, advice,...

You are of course allowed to use a computer program like word, openoffice, to modify the text. Just not any program that would analyse. That wouldn't be fair, to anyone one else trying to break it. Not everyone has acces to that kind of progreams and hardware.

And although I have a sgi O2, (it works but you can't login) it still needs a upgrade from the os, it was not used to write this text. Just a simple text editor called cryptedit, wich can be downloaded from the www.pcplus.co.uk webpage. I have only used its text function, none of the rest. But it could as well have been written in notepad.

Virulent mime part 2 : Late addition : The same idea again

This might make it easier or worse,
the original dutch version has been included.

    vaste evolutie,
    die af en toe ontspoort,
    hergebruik en adaptatie,
    samengesmolten met compleet nieuwe ideen.

    Niet conservatief en niet vernieuwend,
    ouderwets en vernieuwend,
    traag en snel,
    begrensd en onbegrensd,
    lokaal en internationaal,
    traditioneel en avantgarde,
    standvastig en los.

    Slapend en wakker,
    beschermend en loslatend,
    mysterieus en compleet gekend,
    oud en vernieuwd,
    stamboom en ballonetjes,
legaal in orde, maar niet gepatenteerd,
    origineel eigendom van niemand,
een boom, bestaande uit meerdere bomen,
    uit 1 stuk en gelaagd,
    centraal en verspreid,
    conceptueel en niet conceptueel,
    neergeslagen en heropgestaan,
    belaagd en overwinnend.

    English/engelse Version/versie

    Not open and not closed,
    not open and not shut,
you are the owner of the idea and you are not,
your idea is from you and from everyone,
but in essence from no one.

Not a patentingsystem but also not the opposite,
    old and new,
    known and unknown,
    fixed evolution,
that is derailed from time to time,
    reuse and adaptation,
    mixed with complete new ideas.

    Not conservative and not renewing,
    conservative and renewing,
    slow and fast,
    with borders and without borders,
    local and international,
    traditonal and avantgarde,
    steady and loose.

    Dormant and awake,
    protecting while letting loose,
    mysterious and completly known,
    old and renewed,
    family tree and baloon like,
    legally ok, but not patented,
    orignal propertry of nobody,
a tree, consisting out of multiple trees,
    in one piece and layered,
    central and dispersed,
    conceptual and not conceptual,
    beaten down and arisen,
treatend and coming out on top.

As a extra text has been added, this means also two extra questions, bringing the total on four.

    First text
What is the idea described here ?
And what has the rest of the text to do with it ?
    Second Text
About what idea go both text ?
What has the second text to do with it ?

To win you should answer all questions correctly. Two extra weeks have been added to the time limit.

To the winner or winners a prize will be given, a sum of money, not much as I am not rich, but it should be enough to by a bottle of champange, or wine, with it. You can buy whatever you want with,
aslong as it is something to drink and no drugs.

The prize will be 50 Euro's. Not much, but then this represents 1/10th of my montly money.

The prize money has been removed, but the challenge stays open. And has been posted a new on my own blog.
