White Jacket Required is a book that will inspire you to find and live your best life. Through Jenna Weber’s story, you will live each day to the fullest.
This is a book about one young woman’s search to do something she loves: cooking and writing about her experiences through culinary school and life. Jenna suffered a lot and there were so many ups and downs in her life, including a terrible family tragedy. However, each time, she pulled herself up and became better than she was previously. I found Jenna’s message so inspiring and uplifting, despite the low points in her life.
Jenna tells her story with raw honesty and wit. It is a rare combination for a memoir-type book of this kind. But what’s even more remarkable about this story is that Jenna didn’t want to become a chef when she went to culinary school. All she wanted to do was to write about food! So, the book is interlaced with many delicious, mouth-watering recipes that are easy to make. Her background is in English and she uses it to write very eloquently indeed about something that she truly loves: food.
I loved White Jacket Required from beginning to end. It inspired me to enjoy life and every moment of every day. After all, if you are surrounded with food and people you love, what else do you really need? And since I am a writer too, she even inspired me to write about food one day. I just may have to write my book without a white jacket.
