TurboCharged Recipes: Delicious Fuel for Your Fabulous Fat Burning Machine by Dr. Dian Griesel and Tom Griesel explains simple recipes to bring out the maximum fat-burning capacity of your body. The authors have organized the book by presenting optimal strategies followed by detailed recipes for drinks, appetizers, soups, and a whole variety of meals.

The authors recommend drinking water every two hours throughout the day. Meals should consist of a high amount of protein and lower proportion of vegetables or a high amount of vegetable content and lower protein. Sample drinks are provided, such as smoothies made with ice and whey, or green tea lemonade. Red, green, and black tea contain all-important polyphenols.

Polyphenols are chemical compounds which include antioxidants, carotenoids, flavonoids, phytosterols and resveratrol. These substances are found in foods such as fruits and vegetables, nuts, cocoa, dark chocolate, and red wine. Each type of polyphenol has a specific health benefit and role in the overall diet.

The appetizers are very attractive. For instance, the authors explain how to make a taco wrap with cilantro and cashews. Another popular favorite is shrimp cocktail with salsa. Vegetable chili is another unique food preparation for parties and other occasions.

The book has a whole section on the preparation of whole food soups. Cream of mushroom is a popular choice along with soup containing shallots, thyme, and parsley. The Moroccan Lentil soup with vegetables is a popular dish overseas. The salad section follows with fruited green salad, roasted asparagus, and other combinations too numerous to list. The presentation teaches how to utilize accents in the food preparation, such as herbs, spices, curry, fennel, chives, cilantro, oregano, and ginger.

The authors cite the best organics for health enthusiasts. Examples are celery, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, spinach, cherries, and chopped eggs. Low calorie drinks include water, seltzer, herbal tea, dry wine, and diet soda (in moderation.

TurboCharged Recipes is an excellent book directed to optimizing the bodily metabolism to burn off fat permanently. A beauty of the presentation is that the authors show how to make unique food combinations to maximize fat burning.
