After reading The Winning Point, readers will have a newly ingrained self-confidence, one that will make it much more possible for them to achieve their dreams.
Loren Fogelman’s book is specifically about how to win in competitive sports. However, her approach can be applied to any other area of our lives that makes us fearful, such as our careers, family life, and personal management. We all have goals that we want to achieve, but we are often afraid of failure.
Fogelman argues that one way to get us out of the fearful mindset is to take a piece of paper and write the word G.O.A.L. across the top of the page. Then down the left side of the paper, write G.O.A.L. on separate lines. Then next to each letter answer the following questions: What are your goals? What obstacles stand in your way? What action steps can you take to reach your goals? List one to three action steps you can commit to right now to move yourself forwards towards your goal. By answering these questions, we will be starting on a new path towards our goals. All we have to do is to begin.
I loved the book from beginning to end. It is inspiring and success-oriented. After reading this book, most readers will be able to manage their lives much more completely without being afraid and paralyzed with fear. I will also be applying it to my freelance writing career and I will be blogging about these ideas often.
