When I was a little girl, I had dreams of what I wanted to be when I grew up. I went through a variety of different jobs including ballet dancer and psychologist. One thing they all had in common was the fact that I would love doing them. Eventually, after college I ended up in the business world — just another office worker in a cubicle for the most part. I realized that working for someone else wasn’t all the fun I thought it was. It was actually hard work… hence the whole job thing. I resolved at that point in time that I wasn’t going to work for someone else for the rest of my life. I know that’s a feeling that many of my friends feel as well. Of course, knowing you want to work for yourself and actually getting to the point where you can pay the bills is another thing.

The Laptop Millionaire by Mark Anastasi tells you how anyone can escape working nine-to-five and make money online. It includes 32 proven ways to make money from home. The book begins with an introduction of the author and what motivated him to write the book. In this book and his blog, he has collected the success stories of 100 of his seminar attendees and students. They are using the Internet strategies included in this book. He shares the techniques you’ll need to use in order to make a full time living using Twitter, Facebook, Facebook ads, Facebook pages, local business marketing, mobile marketing, You Tube, Google Adwords, search engine optimization, webinars, joint ventures, affiliate marketing, etc.

Each chapter of the book details a different method you can use to earn money online. You will learn the basics of how each method works along with the steps you need to take to earn yourself. There are also case studies included with each method so you can get to know other people who have used these methods to earn online. When necessary, the author has included links to outside websites that you can use. Some are free to use and some cost money. While there are a variety of different methods, they all really involve one thing — you are selling something and using the different methods in the book to drive traffic to whatever it is you decide to sell. Maybe it’s an ebook or a service. Maybe it’s a DVD or an online seminar.

The author does give you several suggestions for how to get started on each topic. You will either need the technical knowledge to create or offer the product or you will need money to pay someone to create it for you. While the book is a great source of ideas, it doesn’t actually tell you step by step how to create these things that you are going to need to sell. He does include links to sites that you can use to create the item but without the technical know how to navigate the site and use the tools mentioned, I don’t believe that you’ll have the same results he has. However if you have a few hundred dollars to invest, you can get started with a basic product and then as the income starts coming in, use that to re-invest in your business either buy paying someone to do the work for you or learning to do it yourself. Eventually, I believe you’ll have a steady income coming in that will allow you to leave your job. The Laptop Millionaire: How Anyone Can Escape the 9 to 5 and Make Money Online is the first step.
