Simply Yoga – Instant Master Class by Yolanda Pettinato is an easy-to-use book and DVD on how to perform yoga together with the detailed posture, breathing and meditation practice.

Yoga is an art well over 1000 years old. One of the many benefits is to restore energy levels.

The book begins with an extensive section which teaches how to prepare the body in the limber position. The art is best practiced by breathing deeply with high concentration.

Classic poses are in the presentation. For instance, the book teaches the child pose, depicting how the participant sits erect, resting on the legs. Next, the participant bends forward and touches the floor as in a worshipping position.

Another popular yoga position is the cobra position. In cobra, the participant lies down flat facing the floor. The hands are used to lift the body upward as in a push-up position.

The book illustrates the lie-flat position. In this position, the participant lies flat on the floor and breathes deeply into the lower rib cage. This exercise is done to relax the body while in deep concentration or meditation.

A strength of the book is that all of the major aspects of yoga are covered together with detailed photos of practitioners and explanations of how the art evolved and the benefits to expect.

Simply Yoga is an important acquisition for health conscious consumers. The presentation is brief, easy to understand, very instructive and priced affordably.

But it should always be remembered that yoga practice should be discussed with your medical providers.
