Viji Chary’s Porcupine’s Seeds is a great children’s picture book with many layers of important lessons for kids.

While reading Chary’s book, readers will learn the importance of friendship and the pay-off that can result from hard work.

In addition, Chary shows kids that they can overcome any difficulty through problem-solving, diligence, and perseverance. These are all wonderful lessons for kids to learn early on in their lives.

This is especially the case because our culture is obsessed with quick fixes and results.

However, sometimes the best things are the hardest to achieve. But this is no reason to give up. It’s important for kids to learn that they can do anything that they desire if they really put their hearts into it and not quit.

The illustrator, Bridget McKenna, also did a splendid job of illustrating the important messages in Chary’s book. The illustrations are bold and colourful, further engaging the reader. I will be reading this book to a grade 1 and 2 class in the fall.

My niece so fell in love with Chary’s book that she decided to plant some seeks of her own a few weeks ago in the backyard.

Thanks Viji Chary for such a wonderfully inspirational book!
