Lead… for God’s Sake! is a book like no other. It’s definitely the best book I read all year. Todd Gongwer writes with honesty and depth about a very important theme: How to lead with the heart so that the leader could show the team how to be the best each person can be through his example and behaviour.

The book is a story about a high school basketball coach, Steve Rocker. Steve was very successful in previous years. Strangely, this year was very different for him. His team lost a lot of games, but most importantly the boys had no motivation and inclination to bring the team out of the rut that they found themselves in. Steve tried all the motivational methods at his disposal that worked in the past. But for some reason beyond everyone’s comprehension, including his own, nothing was working.

Can a chance meeting with a janitor change Steve’s life forever? Can a janitor teach the coach some of the most important and valuable lessons which will change his personal and professional life forever? I will leave the reader to decide these questions for himself after reading the book. I can only assure the reader that reading this book will be a journey like no other for them.

This book will be relevant to parents, coaches, managers and any person who is in a leadership role. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Lead for God’s Sake! It is one of these life-changing books that will stick with me for a long time and that I will refer to from time to time. I hope it does the same for you too.
