Blogcritics On the Cindy Sheehan Conundrum

Cindy Sheehan – one woman, many questions: Is she an unreasonable, malignant gadfly? Righteously indignant grieving mother?

Is it anti-American to protest ongoing American military action, or the most American expression of all? Do her efforts undermine the war effort? Should the war effort be undermined?

Would quitting Iraq now consecrate or denigrate the sacrifices of those who have lost their lives in the effort? Should Bush meet with her? If so, why her? Should he meet with every parent, spouse, child, etc. of those killed in the line of duty?

Are her actions spontaneous or calculated? Does it matter? Is grief an appropriate political tool?

We have a variety of news and views on Sheehan’s efforts:

Just Say No, Malkin
I wrote this the day Cindy Sheehan left Crawford to attend to her mother. Whether Michelle Malkin grew a heart or just got distracted by other news and – now – trying to out-do others in reporting on Katrina… that I…
