BoingBoing Outs “Lying Turdmongers”

Filed under: Publicity — Phillip Winn @ 12:26 pm

On BoingBoing I found out that a shady operator is “using BC’s name in vain” to promote a website. I affirm that we have certainly not paid any amount of money to this site. Not $700, not 700 cents, not one penny. I had never heard of them before reading this article on BoingBoing.

Darren Rowse tracked this site down, and based on what I’ve read at Darren’s site and at BoingBoing, I’d be surprised if any of the listed sites even knew this site existed.

I suppose it’s nice to be popular enough to be used as a seed in an apparent scam, but not really.

Lifehacker hacks its way into the BC house

Filed under: Publicity — Eric Berlin @ 10:01 am

JP’s “Why Aren’t You Using RSS?” gets Lifehacker linkage after making Digg’s front page.

Speaking of diggage, I really like Lifehacker’s welcome note:

“Computers make us more productive. Yeah, right. Lifehacker recommends the downloads, web sites and shortcuts that actually save time. Don’t live to geek; geek to live.”
