BLDC stands for BrushLess Direct Current and refers to a type of electrical motor, rotation of which can be controlled by commutating its windings in a certain order. BLDC motors are very common in any type of device that can benefit from precise, usually microcontroller-based, control of RPM and rotation direction. They can be found anywhere from CD-ROMs to electrical vehicles (EV).
