It's slim pickings this week compared to the build up to Black Friday...

Black Eyed Peas Headline New Music Tuesday ~ November 30, 2010

I guess it’s to be expected this week’s new release list would be slim pickings and underwhelming.  It’s not that I haven’t seen music labels dumb enough to release hot titles the Tuesday after the biggest shopping day of the year but it’s rare.  Most of the major titles we’ll see this year got their release earlier in the month.  A few big items will still trickle out between now and Christmas but we’ve seen the bulk.

The biggest thing I see this week has less than no appeal to me but based on what the charts over the past several years tell me, many of you will be all over Black Eyed Peas’ The Beginning.  This is the follow up to their The Energy Never Dies, an album that sold 11 million copies.  That’s a big number for any era but particularly strong now when the industry has been struggling.  Those are Super Bowl sales figures, which is probably why the Peas are playing this year’s halftime show in Dallas.  I’m going to pass on both.

We’ve also got yet another volume from the hit TV show Glee and I’m sure it will move some copies although I’m sensing the enthusiasm for the show and its music has cooled ever so slightly.  Tim McGraw has a hits package out, as well.  Blogcritics writer Clayton Perry interviewed Chrisette Michele last year and she has a new album out this week, as well.  I should be commended for finding this much this week.  Here’s your list:
