The Black Crowes thank you for your support

The Black Crowes To Release Two Albums Sept. 1; Buy One, Get One Free

The Black Crowes are joining the roster of bands that include Coldplay and Nine Inch Nails who have something free for their fans as a "thank you" gift.  The Black Crowes will release two albums on Septmber 1, and one of them is free for fans who buy the other.

Before The Frost… will be released in stores September 1 and will include a code that will allow fans to download Until The Freeze.  Both albums were recorded over a five-day period at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, New York.  Before The Frost… is comprised of 11 new, original tracks.  Until The Freeze is eight originals and a cover.

The twin albums slated for September follow up the band's excellent release Warpaint and the follow up to it, Warpaint Live.

According to the bandUntil The Freeze is their way of saying 'thank you' for more than two decades of support.  Last year, Trent Reznor gave away The Slip for free to fans.  Coldplay is giving away a free live CD at all their 2009 tour stops and allowed fans who couldn't make it to the shows to download it from their web site free.  Both albums will be released on vinyl, as well.
